Important Practice Update: Medicare Changes, Telehealth Only, and Upcoming Leave
Dear patients, I would like to share some important updates regarding my practice and upcoming availability.
1. Medicare Changes From 1 November
Recent Medicare changes (effective 1st November) have affected eligibility for telehealth Medicare rebates.
To receive a Medicare rebate for video consultations, patients must have had a face-to-face appointment with me within the previous 12 months.
If you have not had an in-person appointment within that timeframe, you may not be eligible for a Medicare rebate until a new face-to-face appointment occurs.
2. Telehealth-Only Appointments From January
From January, I will be transitioning to telehealth and video consultations only.
In-person appointments will no longer be offered.
Patients who have had a face-to-face consultation in the last 12 months will continue to be eligible for Medicare rebates under the current rules.
3. Upcoming Leave
I will be on leave from 12th December and will return on 5th January.
During this period, clinical and administrative services will be paused.
Thank you for your understanding as these changes take effect, and for your ongoing trust in your care.
Warm regards,
Dr Bryce Joynson
